2005 IUNS AWARD LECTURE

Took place on September 21, 2005 in Durban, South Africa at the International Convention Centre.  The lecture was titled "Good Governance for Nutrition in the Philippines: Elements, Experiences and Lessons Learned."

                    

The 2005 IUNS Award sponsored by the  International Nutrition Foundation will be Presented to Dr. Florentino Solon, Founder and Director of the Nutrition Center of the Philippines (NCP) and one of the world’s  outstanding public health nutritionists. His development of foods for preschool, school emergency feeding and of innovated nutrition education materials have been major contributions to nutrition security in the Philippines.  He has introduced effective programs and policies for the welfare of mothers and children in the Philippines that have been widely promoted by international organizations and benefited the programs of other nations. The applied nutrition training  programs of the NCP in collaboration with the United Nations University and the University of Queensland have spread his influence world-wide.
