Currently it has 850+ members including nutritionists, physicians, dieticians, food chemists, and food technologists. KNS is a member of The Korea Research Foundation and The Korean Federation of Sciences & Technology Societies as well as The Federation of Asian Nutrition Societies (FANS) and International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS). The main goal of KNS is to provide and to share the latest scientific nutrition information and findings among members. The promotion of national health status by nutrition intervention is another side of the goal.

Committee of Nutritional Information: developing and revising the CAN (Computer Aided Nutritional Analysis Program) version which has been used for the assessment of dietary intakes for general use. 3. Committee of Nutrition Policy: establishing public policy by evidence-based science to improve diets and reduce noncommunicable diseases. 4. Committee of Biofoods and Functional Foods for Health: finding the new functional materials, evaluating the functionality and safety, and establishing the standard requirement on biofoods. 5.
