2003 – 2004 Activities

1.      Implementation of the Family Development Program in 7 nutritionally and economically depressed urban communities and 2 rural barangays covering 2, 291 families or 10,075 family members

2.      Conduct of 20 Nutrition and Health Kiddie Classes (NHKC) with a total enrollment of 715 preschoolers, age 4 to 6 years

3.      Training on local nutrition program planning and management for non-formal volunteer leaders, composed of 33 mothers and 38 adolescents

4.      Hold Practical Training (Practicum)_in Community Nutrition for 198 graduating nutrition students from various schools; a Residency Training for professionals; and a Youth Leadership Training with a total participants of 72

5.      Conduct of 80 nutrition classes for various population groups, participated by 4,514 individuals

6.      Dietary Counseling to 395 individuals

7.      Hold a seminar on Healthy Lifestyle and Functional Foods to 65 health professionals

8.      Development and printing of 2 issues of the Bulletin of the Nutrition Foundation of the Philippines

9.      Provision of resource persons o 13 nutrition activities

10.  Partnership with an industry on the promotion of healthy lifestyle or healthy diet with 25 classes and cooking demonstrations, participated by; 768 mothers and local officials

11.  Maintenance of a specialized library on foods and nutrition

For 2004, the NFP is planning to conduct a centennial celebration on the occasion of the 100th birthday of its founder, Dr. Juan Salcedo Jr.
