6. Activity Highlights for the Period 2004 to 2005

§ R. C. Madzima was appointed as Chairperson to the International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN) Board for Africa representing the Anglophone and Lusophone countries for the period 2004 to 2006.

§ FANAZ provided technical support at the Inaugural Food Fair for Zimbabwe held on the 27^th and 28^th of January 2005. Its theme was to “Promote Food and Nutrition Security through Advocating for the Consumption of a Diversified Indigenous Diet”

§ J. Mutamba was appointed a Board member of the ICC IDD and is the Sub Regional Coordinator for East and Southern Africa for 2004 to 2006.

§ A second edition to the Nutrition and HIV/AIDS guide has now been produced and FANAZ will be involved in its dissemination and promotion.

§ J Tagwireyi participated in the United Nations Standing Committee on Nutrition (UN SCN) held in Brasilia in 2005.

§ FANAZ was represented at the International Conference on Nutrition and HIV/AIDS held in Durban in 2005.

§ FANAZ seminars to update colleagues on contemporary food and nutrition security issues are held periodically and the focus during this period has been on Nutrition and HIV/AIDS.
