6. Activity Highlights for the Period 2004 to 2005
§ R. C. Madzima was appointed as Chairperson to the International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN) Board for Africa representing the Anglophone and Lusophone countries for the period 2004 to 2006. § FANAZ provided technical support at the Inaugural Food Fair for Zimbabwe held on the 27th and 28th of January 2005. Its theme was to “Promote Food and Nutrition Security through Advocating for the Consumption of a Diversified Indigenous Diet” § J. Mutamba was appointed a Board member of the ICC IDD and is the Sub Regional Coordinator for East and Southern Africa for 2004 to 2006. § A second edition to the Nutrition and HIV/AIDS guide has now been produced and FANAZ will be involved in its dissemination and promotion. § J Tagwireyi participated in the United Nations Standing Committee on Nutrition (UN SCN) held in Brasilia in 2005. § FANAZ was represented at the International Conference on Nutrition and HIV/AIDS held in Durban in 2005. § FANAZ seminars to update colleagues on contemporary food and nutrition security issues are held periodically and the focus during this period has been on Nutrition and HIV/AIDS.
