First External Review Now Open for IPBES Global Assessment

The external review for the first order drafts of the chapters of the IPBES global assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services is open.

The period for this first external review of the global assessment is from 15 June until 15 August, 2017.

If you would like to be an expert reviewer for the global assessment, please follow these easy steps:

1) Register as user of the IPBES website (http://www.ipbes.net/registration_global_fod) if you have not already done so.

2) Apply to become an IPBES external reviewer for individual chapters of the global assessment at http://www.ipbes.net/user/login?destination=registration_global_fod (this will only work when logged in first as IPBES website user).

3) Once registered, you will immediately receive an email providing confidential access to the draft chapters and will be requested to submit your comments in English using a template that is available on the same webpage.

 

 

IPBES – External review now open for the Americas assessment

IPBES are pleased to announce the start of the external review for the second order draft of the chapters and the first order draft of the summary for policymakers of the IPBES regional assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services for the Americas.

Experts and Governments wishing to review the Americas regional assessment will first need to register as users of the IPBES website via this link: http://www.ipbes.net/user/register?destination=sod-review. They can then apply to become an IPBES external reviewer for individual chapters of the assessment as well as for the summary for policymakers at www.ipbes.net/sod-review.

BCFN YES! International Competition for Young Researchers

BCFN YES! (Young Earth Solutions) is an International Competition for young researchers from all over the world. It was first launched in 2012 with the aim of rewarding the best ideas about food and sustainability. The Research Grant competition is aimed at PhD and postdoc researchers from any background and nationality. Young researchers are asked to submit a research project to improve the sustainability of the food system.

The award is €20,000 applied to a one year investigation.

IPBES External Review now open for assessments

The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem (IPBES) Services External Review is now open for three IPBES regional assessments and for land degradation and restoration assessment.

This external review will remain open from 1 May until 26 June 2017. The period for the external review of the regional assessment for the Americas will be from 29 May until 24 July 2017.

Experts and Governments wishing to participate will first need to register as users of the IPBES website, to do so please visit the IPBES website via this link.

Young Global Changers Scholarship Programme – APPLICATIONS OPEN NOW

Applications are welcomed from early career professionals from all over the world who are working on a project or research topic that addresses one or more of the key challenges of human development (i.e. globalisation, migration, climate change, digitalisation) to the Young Global Changers Scholarship Programme.

Successful candidates will attend the Think 20 summit in Berlin (29th – 30th May 2017). The deadline for applications is 10th April 2017.
